Why Iyengar Yoga?

As an Iyengar Yoga teacher, I give clear instructions as I observe and teach the students in front of me (younger, older, athletic or with physical limitations). I demonstrate and guide you step by step, with actions to explore the asanas (postures). From the beginning, you will be challenged in a safe way as you develop strength, stamina, concentration, flexibility and coordination to discover balance and ease.

Beginning with precision of action and physical alignment, Iyengar Yoga encourages the spread of intelligence throughout the body, the growth of self-awareness, and an experience of asana as a form of “meditation in action.” Classes are sequenced to promote health and stability in the body and clarity in the mind, progressing from posture to posture, class by class, year after year.
